If the piece is well made and the damage is in one place, repair it. A seam, a scratched panel, a broken spring or a flat cushion are all repairs, not reasons to replace a good sofa. If the fabric is worn everywhere, a full reupholstery or a new piece makes more sense, and we will tell you that from the photos.
How can I fix a broken spring in my sofa?
From underneath, with the dust cover off. A spring that has come unclipped can be reattached, a broken one is replaced, and the webbing around it is checked, because a failed spring usually has a reason. If you would rather not flip a sofa in a New York living room, this is a common in-apartment repair for us.
Can a torn couch be repaired without reupholstering the whole thing?
Usually, yes. A torn or scratched panel can be replaced on its own, and if the original fabric is discontinued we harvest matching fabric from the back or underside of the sofa so the repair blends in.
Why does my sofa sag on one side?
Most often a spring clip or a strip of jute webbing under the seat has let go. Both are repairable without recovering the sofa. We retie the springs, replace the webbing and add new foam to the cushion so both sides sit level again.
Do you repair pet damage on furniture?
Cat scratched arms and chewed corners are some of our most common repairs in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We replace the damaged panel and can switch that panel to a tighter performance weave that claws do not catch as easily.
Can you repair furniture that was damaged during a move?
Yes. Crushed corners, torn dust covers, wet cushions and broken legs from a move are all repairable. Take photos before the movers leave if you plan to claim it, then send them to us for a quote.
