About NYC Reupholstery

More than 25 years of upholstery, furniture repair and restoration for New York apartments, hotels, restaurants and offices, from an Upper East Side base and a working shop.

From a garage to a workshop

NYC Reupholstery started the way a lot of good trades do: as a hobby in a garage, working on furniture for friends and family. What began as a way to save a few pieces slowly became a career, and the garage became a warehouse workshop with a fabric library, a sewing room, a finishing area and a carpentry bench.

Over more than 25 years the shop has reupholstered and restored furniture for hotels and conference centers, restaurants and salons, Midtown offices, and thousands of New York apartments across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. The work runs from a single dining chair seat to a full dining room of booths, and from a stapled foam job on a rental sofa to hand tied springs and horsehair on a Victorian settee.

Marcos runs the work. Customers mention him by name in their reviews for the same reason: he sends progress photos while the piece is in the shop, tells you what he found under the old cover before doing anything extra, and delivers what he quoted. We cater to the job in front of us and work with your design and your budget rather than pushing a package.

Every service is done in house. Reupholstery, upholstery repair, furniture repair, wood refinishing, antique restoration, cushions and slipcovers and commercial seating. That is why a dining set can be recovered and refinished in one job, with one pickup and one delivery.
